Sweet Potato

This spud is one of the most nutritious (and inexpensive) vegetables around. The Vitamin A in sweet potatoes keeps eyes healthy, and acts like an antioxidant in the body. Sweet potatoes are a favorite among babies because of their natural sweetness and bright color, but they are often forgotten once kids get older.

Try a baked sweet potato the next time you need a side dish. Simply wash, pierce with a fork, and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until tender. Then, serve like a baked potato topped with cinnamon-sugar and vanilla yogurt. Apple sauce or a drizzle of maple syrup also make good toppings. If you’ve got a mashed potato lover, then try Two-Potato Mash.

Salmon Burgers

If salmon isn’t a food you would think to serve to your child, then you might want to reconsider this pink fish.

Wild salmon is an excellent source of high-quality protein which children need for proper growth as well as those Omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for brain development and heart health.

Another plus for busy parents, salmon requires little seasoning due to natural flavor and can be baked or grilled in just a few minutes. If mercury levels have you worried, then take note of the fact that salmon is consistently rated by the FDA as one of the five fish lowest in mercury.

Try one of these kid-friendly salmon recipes tonight: Salmon Burgers or Roasted Salmon with Citrus and Herbs.

Do you know Zumba?

Zumba is a program with combination of dance and fitness. It involves aerobics and dance, which are matched to the appropriately selected tracks. As an innovative form of fitness it is based on simple dance moves performed to energetic music which comes from the following dance styles: salsa, hip-hop, soca, samba, rumba, reggaeton. Classes are taught only by instructors licensed by Zumba Fitness, LLC.

Zumba is also an endurance training, aerobic and cardio and it is usually an hour long. Alternating fast and slow rhythms burn fat, slim the silhouette and improve the physical condition.

Zumba is great for both the body and the mind. In other words is for everyone who likes to move to music regardless of age, dance experience or skills because it is easy to adjust to individual needs and abilities.

Third project's meeting in Prague

Beachclub Ladvi was a host partner of third project's meeting organised in beautiful city - Prague. During the meeting that last from 29 till 30 of May partners discussed all important issues of the project. In general, meeting was devoted to analysis of implementation of project's activities, verifing the budget, comparing the feedback in all cities but also helping each other in solving problems. Each partner made a presentation of run activities, showed statistics, told about the feedback and shared knowledge and experiences.

Our delegation has a great honour to meet the mayor of Prague 8, Mr Roman Petrus who is a really fantastic person engaged to his work! He showed us his "castle" - the historic building of city office. It was a lovely time with a doze of history.

Beachclub showed us also how the awareness campaign and p.e. classes are run in their area. They invite schools to their club and teach children and teachers about healthy lifestyle.

Beside the meetings and discussions partners found time to spend some time for integration. Host partner organised kayaking and night match in volleyball. It was interesting experience with a lot of fun.

Now, all the partners are full of energy and motivation to continue activities of Move up project.
